President's Message
Hello everyone and welcome to the 2021-2022 NIAND year!
I hope your summer has been going well as we feel things are getting back to “normal” after a crazy year of 2020! I am excited for the upcoming year and some of the events our Board is already planning. Other board members this year include Rachel Bagne, Anna Neilsen, Ashley Edwards, Sara Mattillion, Courtney Kaiser, and Lyndsey McMahon.
Last year, we were able to host many virtual events for members and hope to carry this over into the upcoming year as well. When able, we will be planning hybrid events so members can meet in person, but also watch the presentation from home if more convenient for your busy schedule.
Another goal the Board has for this year is to increase networking opportunities to help bring us all back together after a year apart. We are hoping to host a few different social events throughout the year. Please join our facebook group “Northern Illinois Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics” to stay up-to-date on events and other happenings.
As many of you know, there are great benefits of being an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics member. We realize that not everyone belongs to AND, but with such a diverse nutrition profession, we would love to include partner members to join NIAND as well. If you know of any dietitians or diet techs that are not AND members, but would be interested in networking with us and obtaining CEUs, please pass along this message and application to fellow co-workers or other nutrition professionals.
Please reach out with any questions, but we are looking forward to seeing you all at upcoming events.
In good health and wellness,
Erin Burke, NIAND President
